What is a doula?

Birthing people have always needed support to get through birth, and a doula provides birth support through training, experience, and passion for helping them through a beautiful and vulnerable point in their lives.

Per DONA, a doula is "a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible."
